This issue of the award-winning academic journal decenters gender studies' spotlighting of the Global North, instead foregrounding gender-based inquiries in the scattered experiences and discourses of Asian diasporas. Scholars engage interdisciplinary approaches of critical race and ethnic studies to theorise and translate Asian, Asianness, and diaspora, and seeks to move scholarship of migration and geography beyond the dominant US-centric, Blackand-White notions of race.
