Recenzii

'A great read...This book is a shining example of how to keep a tight focus and write something which is eminently helpful and practical throughout. The author has included clear "black and white" advice in table form on areas such as social skills, friendships, training and work...This is a really positive little book, which looks at the whole issue of AS, and from diagnosis to adult life. A really useful book for both teachers and parents of those living with AS, as well as for AS individuals themselves.'TES.co.uk. 'I highly recommend this new book. This is one of the easiest books to read and one of the best books I've ever read'.asperger-syndrome.me.uk. 'In this book I was delighted to find a clear explanation of different areas of coping with AS. I was aware of a far bit but the way this is written helps clarify those nagging issues in your head. I found the charts to help both the parent and child very useful and also how to deal with a partner that has AS.' Totz2teens.co.uk 'Living with a sufferer, or having Asperger's Syndrome is challenging and worrying - not least because of the lack of understanding which surrounds it. This down-to-earth factual guide is written by Hilary Hawkes, who has first-hand experience of AS. This is not a quick fix, but takes the reader through living with AS from diagnosis, through how to handle it, to careers and long-term relationships. I found it an enlightening book, covering key issues in a succinct fashion and I recommend it to anyone who encounters AS in any way, especially parents and teachers, to increase understanding and give an insight into how sufferers feel. An extensive list of resources is a useful feature.' Parents In Touch Very useful and informative guide I recommend this book if you or someone you know has just been diagnosed with AS.It covers everything from diagnosis, coping with everyday life, education, work and relationships. Also a good resource for teachers and students and anyone who works with people who have AS.
