The poems in this book are healing poems - drawing forth the poetry which rests in the heart of each one of us. They are the fruit of a long life of thoughtful experience. Harvey Wasserman's intuitive knowledge of the human psyche transcends and transforms the limits of everyday consciousness. He is truly apoet of the spirit.



Professor Harvey Wasserman was born and raised in New York City, graduating from Queens College of New York City with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He completed his psychiatric training at the Menninger Foundation, Topeka, Kansas, where he was awarded a Fellowship in Psychiatry and served as Lecturer in Psychiatry at Kansas University College of Medicine. In addition to 36 years in the private practice of psychiatry, he served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Yale University College of Medicine from 1966 to 1981. At Yale he was Director of Education and Training at one of the Medical School Teaching and Research Hospitals. He has given lectures and workshops around the world. He has studied many forms of psychotherapy and healing, from bioenergeticanalysis to traditional Chinese medicine. He has had extensive anthropological contact with tribal peoples and native healers all over the world. He currently lives in the Burren in Co Clare, Ireland, and practices psychotherapy in Galway.
