Until he came up with his coming out... Come off it I almost blurted out... and stopped in my tracks and got on to thinking... Living a straight life is far from easy at the best of times... so imagine living a gay life... This world is taking away from gays what they haven't even got... unfair lot... Society isn't made for gays... and little are gays prepared to live in this world... gays have to walk on the jagged edge... on the straight and narrow line while parallel all the while... Neither gays nor straights come with a user's manual... and neither does life Growing up we all learn to live life and with life as much as with others... which is fine insofar as it matches the life of others... but what happens when one realises (s)he's fatally attracted to the same sex ? Ill-fated love ? Ill-fated sex ? Most people still shudder, laugh, mock upon thinking about gays... until some of them realise they too have been gay all their life... and led a straight life... wearing shoes that didn't fit... or even heard their kids come out to them... what's a (wo)man to do ?
