There is trouble coming. You see, over 10,000 years ago, a starship named Atlantis was slingshot through a wormhole on a one way trip to our solar system. Atlantis came into Earth orbit and settled into what is now known as the Atlantic Ocean. When the Atlantans tried to interact with the humans of that time, we thought they were Gods. We simply could not understand that chariots that could fly, and dancing lights in the night sky were not supernatural events. The Atlantans are an ancient and highly moral people and they made the best choice they could. They couldn't go back. and this was not their planet after all. They delved deep and built their cities underground. They sank Atlantis in the middle of what is now known as the Bermuda Triangle, and it is now one of their hidden cities. All that remained was harmless mythology, but as it turns out, much of mythology had its actual foundation in fact. The Atlantans thrive there still but trouble is coming. Our technology is advancing and in about 65 years we will discover them, and we still aren't ready. Today we would not think they were Gods, but the cultural gap is still too wide. They decide that to close this gap, they will start schools to train some of our children in their ways and culture and allow them to engage in the sorts of activities that will close that gap. The kids who are selected enter a world of technical marvels and stunning revelations. Atlantis in the 21st Century - 1st thru 8th Chronicles are the stories of one of those schools and four of those kids. This is a thought provoking series for tweens, teens and the young at heart of all ages. Parents should not be surprised if their child wants to go to the Library when finished, because this series is specifically intended to incite curiosity in science, the environment and the literature of mythology.
