Atlas of Renal Ultrastructural Pathology

Editat de Candice Roufosse, Verena Broecker
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 12 apr 2026
This book provides a broad and in-depth guide to electron microscopy in renal disease. Practical and clinically focussed chapters cover all diseases encountered by renal pathologists within daily practice. High quality electron microscopy images illustrate the technical aspects of electron microscopy, approaches to ultrastructure, normal kidney structures, glomerular pathology, tubulo-interstitial pathologies, vascular pathology, and kidney transplantation.Atlas of Renal Ultrastructural Pathology aims to give readers an understanding of the main ultrastructural patterns and is relevant to renal pathologists, nephrologists, and transplant pathologists, as well as Biomedical Scientists involved in Electron Microscopy.

Notă biografică

Dr Candice Roufosse is Senior Clinical Lecturer (Centre for Inflammatory Diseases Imperial College) and Honorary Consultant in Renal and Transplant Cellular Pathology (Subspecialty Lead for Renal and Electron Microscopy) North West London Pathology (affiliated to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust). She has been a consultant in Cellular Pathology specialised in renal and transplant pathology for the last 12 years. She is a clinician scientist with a particular interest in translational research in the application of transcript analysis, electron microscopy and novel imaging technologies to renal and transplant diagnosis. She is a trial pathologist involved in several clinical trials in transplantation and glomerulonephritis, both industry and grant-funded.
Dr Verena Broecker is a diagnostic histopathologist subspecialised in renal pathology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. She has been working with renal pathology for 13 years, starting her career inGermany to continue in Great Britain and finally Sweden. She has published mainly in the field of transplant renal pathology with a special interest in diagnostic application of electron microscopy. Her diagnostic work covers native and transplant renal biopsies.
