Notă biografică
Berthold Seitz is Chairman and Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at Saarland University Medical Center (UKS) in Germany since 2006 and has specialized in the field of corneal diseases. His work and scientific contributions in the field of corneal transplantation include methods to minimize postoperative risks and astigmatism and focuses on the use of femto- and excimer lasers in ophthalmology creating new standards especially in corneal microsurgery.
Professor Seitz has produced more than 700 publications and 120 book chapters. He is a member of numerous editorial boards including the editorial board of the journal “Der Ophthalmologe” and editor of the Klinische Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde as well as co-editor of the Atlas of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Ophthalmology Times Europe as well as the International IC3D Commission of Cornea Specialists on the Reclassification of Corneal Dystrophies Considering Genetic Aspects.
Loay Daas is a Senior Physician at the Saarland University Hospital, Clinic for Ophthalmology in Homburg, Germany. He completed his studies in medicine at the Philipps University in Marburg before becoming an Assistant Doctor at the Saarland University Hospital in the Ophthalmology Clinic and a Senior Physician in 2018. Dr Daas has a special focus on refractory surgery and is a member of the DOG German Ophthalmic Society.
