Restless and reckless, Theresa Folette, an Asian America journalist, drinks and dreams her way into the spirit world of Bali, backpacks through southeast Asia to Katmandu, and then decides to trek into the war zone near Tibet. As each person and place begins to feel familiar, she becomes more and more a stranger to herself.
