Eric had loved and lost. His wife had suddenly passed away in a car accident and he had believed his chances of being a father were long past. They had struggled with fertility and had seen a specialist who had fertilized several eggs for them and kept them frozen for Eric, just on the safe side. He had sworn up one side and down the other that without Victoria, he had no interest in the embryos. It isn't until he gets confirmation from a panicked man at the clinic telling him that a woman had accidently received their eggs instead of her own that Eric realized that if he was going to be a father anyways, he wanted to be the one to raise the baby in question.
