Jamie Tate, a boy living on a farm in Essex, joins the growing band of children who are sent in time to witness history by a mysterious organiation from the future. Jamie hates history, but when he finds himself in Roman Colchester in AD 60, he joins the petrified citizens in the temple of Caludius as the Icenii, bent on revenge attack the town.
