This is the original poetry of John Westbrook, an American poet. This is the first of a new poetry series by John called Barefoot Prints. From the author: I feel my poetry is an extension of my soul. I'm not here trying to impress anyone, I just want my work to be read and embraced and hopefully for my words to inspire, comfort, and ignite hope..love..ambition..courage..emotion..and awaking in others. I never really expected to publish, although in the back of my mind somewhere I think I felt it needed to happen and that I wanted it to happen, wanted to write these poems for myself and share them, share my soul, with the world. Being bare is frightening, exposing one's inner world and soul. A great friend of mine gave me the name to this book and it was perfect. Bare expresses not only what publishing this work is experientially for me, it is about the human experience..about becoming authentic, returning to that exposed, vulnerable state that we are born in. See my rippling beginning; brimming upon the lip of the cup; where my tears well and regrets fade. Take me by my cold unsettled hand.
