Fifteen-year-old Morgan Harley is nothing more than an empty shell, subject to time's callousness.

A former domestic abuse victim, she is surrounded by adults and children, none of whom carry any genuine affection for her, and is entertained by a missing family she'd rather not see. She remains isolated from it all, never once giving a thought to friendship, or even love.

This all changes when she meets a strange boy named Lucas. From his fickle, humorless jokes, to his cocky grin, to his pure, untainted eyes, Morgan couldn't help but wonder if he was just as unstable as she is, if not more. Over time, however, the two grow closer, and their relationship strengthens even more when he begins weaving their own tale together. For a while, she is content.

But memories have a funny way of dragging you below a thin line of insanity. And in the end, it was a punishment Morgan could neither hide nor run from.
