This research project report is entirely based on barriers facing the uptake of e-Learning with a specific reference to students furthering their education at a higher institution of learning. The writer organized these barriers into three main sub topical areas such as access barriers, information literacy barriers and finally situational barriers. The presence or absence of these barriers were tested using a well constructed survey questionnaire whose validity was checked by the relevant experts in the area of Distance Education. The results, conclusions and recommendations of this research are contained in this report. The report is, therefore, important to all participants in the area of Distance Education with a view of creating a more viable and cost effective Distance Education systems.These participants may include trainers in different fields,institutions offering Distance Education and online course developers.
