Flowers and spices were used to add additional conditioning properties, healing, and fragrance to the oils used in the perfumes, soaps, and cleansers. In our modern world, the use of chemicals and toxins have given way to harmful applications of beautifying the body. The process of taking care of our body in a natural way is rarely practiced, and the knowledge of the application of ancient beauty practices has been replaced by a need for instant gratification. This has resulted in the use of things such as chemical peels and surgery to enhance one's appearance. People are forever seeking the illusion of the fountain of youth, when the secrets to beauty lay within the pages of Scripture and not in the hands of chemists and plastic surgeons. The purpose of this pamphlet is to share a bit of insight in the beauty practices of our Scriptural ancestors, as well as encourage readers to turn toward more clean pure and natural ways of taking care of one's body. The ancients viewed personal care as more of a life practice and a cultural standard that was passed down from one generation to the next.
