Becoming

For Claire Kelly, her perfect life is a perfect nightmare. She has an upper middle class lifestyle, loving parents, and supportive friends, but she is at war with her body, her mind, and her future. Depression is stealing her dreams. Now, when Claire looks in the mirror, she is terrified of what she sees. She compensates well enough to succeed in college, but her emotions are spiraling out of control, and so too is her weight. Feeling like a failure unworthy of life, she seeks comfort in food. But it does little to curb the worsening symptoms of Claire's mental health diagnosis. While her skewed self-image threatens to derail Claire, her parents and friends try to draw her back to reality. But is Claire strong enough for a journey of reflection and acceptance to emerge out of her personal darkness and into a place where happiness is possible?
