Behind the Black Wall

Autor Freedom
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 10 aug 2015
A young girl emigrated from Liberia to the US during the Liberian Civil War and undergoes poverty, illiteracy, molestation, rape, and persecution. As a result of her lack of education and social status, she is bullied, belittled, and harassed by so-called friends, relatives in her household, and community members. Her image is destroyed when a younger cousin confides in her concerning a rape incident with her father of whom she revealed to authorities. Faustina is forced to leave her home through arrest and suffered physical, mental, emotional, and verbal abuse, which left her homeless and exposed to negative influences. She is isolated and is cut off from families, and the African community at large, and friends who betrayed and abandoned her. Along with these challenges, Freedom must deal with the death of a late boyfriend whom she is accused of killing and suffers further persecution. But in spite of her cruel life, Freedom learns about the power and the hand of God. Through her story, she demonstrates forgiveness, hope, perseverance, strength, and a lesson that circumstances do not dictate one's destiny; rather, it proves ones authenticity.
