Essentially an instructional guide and manual, Being You: A Girl's Guide to Mindfulness is exceptionally well written, organized and presented -- making it an ideal and unreservedly recommended addition to the personal reading lists of teenage girls, as well as highschool and community library Self-Help/Self-Improvement collections.,Mary Cowper,Midwest Book Review, 10/17/19
Overall, this book was very good, especially for teenage girls going through stressful situations. It includes plenty of activities for anyone to do. I found it very helpful and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a mindfulness book of this type.,Lily Bennett,Padraig O'Morain, 12/13/20

"Being You is a practical, thorough and yet simple way for girls to enhance their lives and well-being as they learn about the topic of mindfulness. I have read many books on this topic and none check ALL the boxes the way this one does!!! I will be using for all my students." – Wendy Lamparelli, BSN, MEd. RN CSN-NJ
"I love this book about mindfulness for teen girls. It provides many opportunities for the reader to reflect and learn about practicing mindfulness. ('Do I Think Before I Speak?' is one of my favorites.) The book is very engaging with a great layout and fun chapter titles. Author Catharine Hannay shares her own experiences with mindfulness as well as many other very age-appropriate examples. This resource for girls ages 14-16 will help them have the tools needed not only during times of stress and anxiety, but in everyday life." – Mary Cay Ricci
"This book is a valuable introduction to mindfulness for teenage girls. The conversational tone used throughout the book makes it easy and fun to read. The mindfulness-based exercises offered are practical and relevant for teenage girls today. The author cites many personal anecdotes from her own teenage years, offering understanding and compassion for what the teenage reader might be experiencing. As a children’s mindfulness facilitator, I highly recommend this book for all teenage girls." – Bianca
