The dinosaur world her parents had been marooned on since before she was even born was the only one Kat ever knew.
Then it appears they are finally rescued when a multiverse ship, commanded by Captain Boston, comes upon them. The captain allows a few people aboard while promising another ship will soon return for the rest of the castaways.
However, the jump, which was supposed to take the Aleutian directly back to Earth Prime, dumps them into a different unknown universe instead because of a tampered drive. But by who and why? Sabotage or espionage? One of the castaways or one of his crew? Captain Boston has questions but no answers.
The captain quickly discovers Kat is a stowaway on his ship. She is not a kid, but she is not an adult yet either. Was she somehow responsible? The captain does not initially trust her, but their survival will depend upon her.
Being lost is their biggest problem though. Left with no choice but to go universe hopping until a known version of Earth is found. Entering the wrong universe could be deadly.
