This book presents a fairly intimate profile of seven Chinese entrepreneurs in Singapore: Soon Peng Yam, Ling Lee Hua, Lee Chin Chuan, Tan Keong Choon, Tan Eng Joo, Robin Loh and Judy Lim. Their perseverance and limitless drive to succeed, their insatiable appetite for challenge and their constant ability to come up with creative solutions to problems put then in a class of their own. The book provides a profile of these entrepreneurs' own experiences in their quest to succeed in an entrepreneurial endeavour. Success, however brought with it a sense of responsibility for the community, hence the extensive philanthropic ventures that have become proud hallmarks of these people. This book also explores the nature of entrepreneurship in Singapore, from the individual entrepreneur, to the government, to the corporate entrepreneur, who perhaps best embodies all the characteristics, skills and drive of the immigrants of the early days.
