Beyond the Edge of Suffering
Autor Peter Connersen Limba Engleză Paperback – 12 apr 2022
- Peter Connners is a highly visible and widely admired member of the poetry community. He has worked at the award-winning poetry publishing house BOA Editions for 18 years, and has directed the press as Publisher and Executive Director for more than a decade.
- Beginning with the 2002 co-founding of his literary journal Double Room: A Journal of Prose Poetry and Flash Fiction, Conners has been a leading voice, spokesperson, advocate, and publisher of prose poetry and flash fiction forms.
- Conners' 2007 prose poetry/flash fiction novella, Emily Ate the Wind was selected by Ilya Kaminsky for a book series he edited for Marick Press. Kaminsky introduced the book by saying, "With much excitement, Marick Press is pleased to share with you this beautiful book, whose publication marks the rarest of occasions: a debut of the literary master." In his blurb for Conners' previous poetry collection, The Crows Were Laughing in their Trees, Kaminsky wrote, "his prose poem is not just a beautiful quirky moment that gives us a glimpse of the miraculous, but also an attempt to become a myth in itself . . . What can I say? A literary master."
- Between his publishing work, nonfiction books, and reputation as a leading American prose poet, Conners has an audience eagerly awaiting his newest book, particularly given the decade-long stretch since his last poetry collection. We anticipate strong review coverage, author profiles, and promotional readings and events as the pandemic allows.
