Biogeography and Ecology of Turkmenistan: Quantitative Geology and Geostatistics, cartea 72

Editat de V. Fet, Khabibulla Atamuradov Victor Fet
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 sep 1994
The book gives a complete account of the biogeography, animal and plant ecology and natural conservation in Turkmenistan. This region within the former USSR borders on Iran and Afghanistan and includes both deserts and arid mountains. Turkmenistan, and especially the mountains of Kopetdagh, is an extremely important region for historical biogeography, as a corridor and filter between the Mediterranean region, the Middle East and the great deserts of Asia. This remote area was studied exclusively by Soviet scientists and all information was published in Russian. This book is the first to bring data on the biogeography and conservation of Turkmenistan to the general scientific community.

Recenzii

`... the work ... occupies a unique place in science. It offers, for the first time, a thorough glimpse into a fascinating and important region. The editors and authors should be congratulated on their monumental effort. Further, the book is well edited, and includes many interesting plates. It deserves a place in most research libraries and on the shelves of all who consider themselves to be desert scholars or who are interested in the Middle East.'
