A novel of parenthood, love and marriage in the tradition of Rachel Cusk's "A Life's Work" and Maggie O'Farrell's "The Hand That First Held Mine". A couple move to Perth, Australia in the 1960s in an attempt to reinvigorate their lives, but as the southern sun shines a harsh light on them it reveals that this new life is not the answer they were hoping for.
