Black Journey

Autor Raymond Davilla
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 28 feb 2011
BLACK JOURNEY is a riveting drama that depicts the harsh world of Native traditionalism against a lone Christian teen in a secluded reservation village. Dan Morgan, a Nawhe tribal teen discovers faith in Jesus in a place where such things are forbidden. His mother and sister were violently murdered for their faith three years earlier. Now the young teen, experiencing manhood in the ceremonies of the Nawhe, is confronted by his little brother's question of Dan's condemnation of their mother's religious teaching. After serious consideration and the prompting of a TV evangelist, Dan finds faith in Jesus. Dan is tormented by a trio of Nawhe traditional bullies. The inspiring words of his dead mother's Bible challenge the knowledge of his forbidden faith among the Nawhe people. Dan realizes he can't be ashamed of his God among those desiring to extinguish his existence among the Nawhe. After a traditional ceremony including demonic spirits manifesting themselves in the people as animal beings, Dan and his family are nearly beaten to death. God begins to work miracles among the Nawhe at Dan's hand. Dan's closest friend is converted after a near death experience. The two become village evangelists amidst death threats from the traditional strongmen. The story is climaxed by the trio following through with their threats of attacking the boy in the same place his mother and sister were killed. This story is inspirational, yet suspenseful. It is following by a sequel that continues the family's trials and is prefaced with a prequel that builds the suspense of the past.
