At the age of twenty-six the author almost drowned and at the moment of giving up all hope, a change in his consciousness occurred that made it possible to survive. Following this life-changing incident he became determined to understand the precise mechanism that had caused this change of consciousness.

In 1973 Ray Menezes had a near death experience. Since then he has travelled extensively. He has worked as a Psychotherapist and Meditation teacher for the last six years. Prior to this he worked for eight years in a Psychiatric Unit.
