Some people get one big chance. A chance to start anew. A lucky break.

Bedris Seunail certainly didn't.

Despite being a young homeless man in a civil-war-torn country, Bedris had always found a way to get by. When he chanced upon a sparkling blue crystal at the bottom of a well, he thought all his troubles were over; after all, the price for such a gem could have afforded him a house, not to mention a hot meal every night.

Then Slaton showed up. Drunk, raving Slaton who called himself a Legendbearer, a physical manifestation of a foretold story about seven magical crystals. The Legend began when that first blue crystal was found, and would end only when all seven were gathered together to unite the world under one ruler...be that ruler righteous or vile. Bedris wanted nothing to do with the rantings of a madman -- especially rantings concerning farcical magics and wild prophecies about him -- but Slaton and Bedris would be bound together by the Legend as strongly as they were by their mutual disdain for one another.

For little did Bedris know that the terribly powerful Chamber of Seven also would be looking for that same blue stone, a stone that would lead Bedris into a fight for his life and, whether he liked it or not, for the fate of the entire world.
