Bought Sense is a book of poetry that is mixed with original graphics and artwork that all together is a treat for the senses. One of the great things about creative writing and poetry is that it is an art form. What one person takes away from a certain piece may be the polar opposite of what another is left with. This anthology is an easy read, one that will call you back to read it again. Although most of the poems were written spanning fifteen years, they are still pertinent, which is significant - and in some ways disappointing. Topics such as race-relations, black-on-black crime, police brutality, bullying and other social issues are all a part of the conversation in Bought Sense. For balance, there are lighter moments that will make you laugh, along with nods to the music industry where m. e. pays homage to a couple of icons across genres.
