This book is a composition of stories told from a young African American girl's point of view. It talks about her life-from her birth to her senior year in high school in the South. Sadie is the main character. She wasn't born being the daughter of a Baptist minister but became one when her father was called to preach at the age of six. Her true feelings are expressed in these short stories.
