Autor Kiki Petrosino
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 8 aug 2022
This is Kiki's fifth full-length book, but her first essay collection. It is a lyric memoir exploring the complexities of mixed racial identity in America. This book matters. It is a vital read. We hope for this to make a big wave; we'll be targeting major outlets that have already praised Petrosino's work like the New York Times, The Academy of American Poets, and elsewhere, as well as new mainstream outlets like Entertainment Weekly, People, Buzzfeed, etc.. This might be far-reaching, but we sincerely could see this book landing Petrosino on shows like The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Desus and Mero on Showtime. Petrosino's last book, White Blood: A Lyric of Virginia, received the UNT Rilke Award and an IPPY Award; is the official selection of Virginia for the Route 1 Reads campaign; was a New York Times "New & Noteworthy" selection; made Publishers Weekly's "Anti-Racist Poetry List" and Library Journal's "Black Voices Matter 2020" list; and made "best of" lists in Publishers Weekly, The Rumpus, The Millions, The Academy of American Poets, and the Southern Review of Books. Petrosino's Witch Wife was named "Best Poetry of 2017" by the New York Times; was recommended by Tracy K. Smith on The Slowdown Show, by Danez Smith on NPR's "1A," and by Leslie Jamison in the New York Times and The AV Club; and made "best of" lists in Barnes & Noble, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, The Millions, and elsewhere. Petrosino has won the UNT Rilke Prize, an NEA Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and the Al Smith Emerging Writers Fellowship from the KY Arts Council. Petrosino is a professor of poetry at University of Virginia. Possible touring cities: Charlottesville, VA, Louisville, KY, NYC, NY, Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, Iowa City, IA.
