Multiple activities taking place at the landscape scale is indepensible to nature protection reqiring a system modelling approach of multi-agents on the landscale scale. This book presents results of a doctorate research of the first attempt on the use of Petri nets to modell and simulute ecosytem services unsing a system modelling approach of multi-agents at the landscape scale. It provides an estimation, management scheme and community-based financial participation models with Petri nets and coupled them as a unified Petri net for management support systems for preserving ecosystem services at the landscpe scale. A real scenario application at the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Spreewald is given. Community-based financial participation is also developed within the framework of the research as a new concept for encouraging community-based participation and funding in developmental initials to enhance sustainability in the society. The book can be useful for ecosystems developers, students, researchers, the business community, governmental and consulting agencies, international and funding organisations and local communities as well.
