The Nordic region (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland) with its 1.7 trillion dollar plus economy is considered one of the ten largest economies in the world, and the fifth largest market in Europe. It is considered worldwide to be a test market for new sophisticated products/technology and an easy-to-enter export market for new and new-to-export companies. English is widely spoken, business agreements are reliable, and the infrastructure is first rate. The Nordic countries have close ties to the United States culturally, politically, and historically. There are great opportunities for American businesses. The Nordic countries are closely related in terms of language (except for Finland), ethnic roots, religion, history and a host of other ways, but they also differ in many ways.
