This book is intended to challenge the conventional wisdom about demographic diversity in organizations as a stand-alone strategy. Using an exploratory investigation on the moderating effects of employee involvement on demographic diversity and the organizational performance relationship on 400 Fortune 500 companies from 1997-2001. The book discovered that the effects of employee involvement did directionally (positively) improve the demographic diversity-performance relationship. The results suggest that high levels of demographic diversity and high levels of employee involvement show a steady increase in improved organizational performance.
