By the time Christina was four years old she had experienced her first kiss at the mouth of a relative and although young, she knew that there was something quite different about it. Not really thinking about it, and also having the attention span of a gnat, Christina pushed this encounter out of her mind until it happened again when she started Kindergarten and this time it came with a touch. Having been taught by her mother not to let anyone touch her in her private areas, she was still a confused child because although it felt wrong, the tingling sensation that came with it made her want to feel it again. So she kept quiet. Rather than open her mouth and ask for help, after being told numerous times by her mother if she continued to act out she would be placed in a home, she made it her mission to get put out just so this very thing could happen. "By His Stripes" details the life of Christina and the decisions she made secretly crying out for help that lead to her being a teen mom, a high school dropout and later heavy drug user suffering in domestic violence relationships.
