The following nautical history of New Baltimore presents an account of the shipbuilding industry and commerce that flourished in this small Hudson River community during the 19th and first quarter of the 20th century. During this time, New Baltimore's shipyards built over 150 wooden-hulled sailing vessels and steam- boats, and repaired numerous other vessels.
