Call Me Bill

Autor Lynette Richards
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 30 oct 2022
Timely and historic: Released just months before the 150th anniversary of the SS Atlantic disaster—the largest maritime disaster before the Titanic. A story that spans the Atlantic: This meticulously researched journey begins in New Jersey, with stops in New York, London, and eventually, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Draws from historic documents and newspapers: Richards's position on Board of Directors of the SS Atlantic Heritage Park and Society has provided her with ample opportunity to research this story. Much of it was drawn from Ralph Keeler's New York Tribune articles.
LGBTQ+ character in rare historical context: Richards, who has created stained glass installations for the first Pride Library in Canada (UWO London ON), and the ArQuives (formerly the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives in Toronto), brings this true story to life in graphic novel form.

Notă biografică

Lynette has been cartooning her whole life. She chose stained glass as her professional medium because it was both a trade and an art. She was fully aware, too, that stained glass windows have used sequential narration for over 1000 years, and are essentially, early graphic novels! As a Craft Nova Scotia Master Artisan, Lynette is proud to have been selected to create large public art installations for the first Pride Library in Canada (UWO London ON), and the ArQuives (formerly the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives in Toronto). Lynette lives and works in Terence Bay Nova Scotia, where she owns and operates Rose Window Stained Glass and serves on the Board of Directors of the SS Atlantic Heritage Park and Society.
