Dr. Raimund Joos has lived on the East Bavarian Way of St. James in Eichstätt (Germany) since 1988. There, he studied pedagogy, Spanish, and theology, and within the scope of his PHD studies spent a longer research term at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN (USA). He was later employed in the education field of adultand applied sciences. Since 1992, he has made pilgrimages in Spain, France and Portugal. Beginning in 2004, he has primarily worked as a hospitalero (refuge manager), travel book author, and travel guide on the Ways of St. James. He also leads weekend seminars for preparation for the Way of St. James.
