Recenzii
A handy-sized, up-to-date guidebook covers all the practical information and sightseeing opportunities that boaters - whether first-timers or experienced - need to know during their holiday on the Canal du Midi.
Packs a great deal into a handy pocket-sized book... Not only are there maps...and descriptions for boaters of each section of the route...there's plenty of information about the tourist sights and interesting features of all the towns and villages on the route. Oe useful feature for those wanting to stop off and explore is the walking guides plotting a route around the main historic towns such as Carcassonne and Toulouse.
This book instantly lifted my spirits... The handy size makes this an ideal travel companion, the maps are clear and easy to use, the pictures stunning. The author has known and loved the Canal du Midi for 20 years, and this comes across in the practical guide which only someone with inside knowledge of a region could write... It is not only full of practical advice, it goes one step further, offering suggestions for off-water excursions and sightseeing musts... A lovely little book which you will want to continuously dip in and out of, even after your holiday is over!
