First published in 1944, this book presents the content of a 1623 catalogue of manuscripts in Worcester Cathedral library created by Patrick Young (1584–1652), the royal librarian to James I and Charles I. The catalogue, which was rediscovered in 1941, antedated other known catalogues of the library by approximately fifty years. The text is consummately edited, containing extensive notes and a detailed introduction. All catalogue material is in the original Latin with minor amendments where necessary. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Worcester Cathedral and its manuscripts.
