Catalytic Processes for the Production of Automotive Gasoline

Editat de Heriberto Díaz Velázquez
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 28 noi 2024
This book serves as the most comprehensive and advanced resource available on catalytic processes to produce automotive gasoline. It discusses enhancers and emerging technologies such as the obtention of gasoline from biomass, gasoline from carbon dioxide, and synthetic gasoline: MTG and Fischer Tropsch. It concludes with a general outlook on the future of gasoline production and discussion of electric vehicles.
  • Explains all aspects of gasoline production, including principles and recent developments.
  • Discusses the use of GHGs such as CO2 to produce gasoline/fuels.
  • Discusses on the different additives to enhance the gasoline performance and stability.
  • Covers oil- and non-oil-based catalytic processes.
  • Contrasts the new electromobility technologies, and contemplates the future of gasoline use trends.
A valuable reference for researchers and advanced students, this text also provides a strong basis for professional engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs in the oil, gas, and energy industry.

Notă biografică

Heriberto Diaz Velazquez was born in Tenango del Valle, Mexico. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, a master’s degree in materials science and engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a PhD. in Science (Chemistry) at the University of Ghent, Belgium. Currently, he holds a research position at the Mexican Institute for Petroleum (IMP). His research areas involve organometallic, organic, and hydrothermal synthesis of materials for applications in catalysis and adsorption. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Aberdeen, UK, working in the field of electrocatalysis. One of his main research interests is the chemical transformation of CO2 into value added chemicals. He also studies the removal of organic contaminants in fuels, and the production of clean gasoline through the production of alkylate gasoline with novel catalysts. He has authored several book chapters, reviews, and research papers in the field of fuels and catalytic processes for the production of automotive gasoline.
