Born in the sunset of the British Empire, Ben Hooper grew up in Kenya as colonial rule evolved into independence. Arriving in Britain to read Law at university, he finds acclimatising to the so called 'home country' a challenge.Fellow students he forms relationships with include Charlotte, strikingly attractive to him, but with strong intellectual socialist views at odds with his colonial background. Contrasting issues come to light of racism, oppression and class in their respective countries, challenging preconceptions on both sides.Should Ben continue with his studies in England, adapting to an unfamiliar life?
