The book begins with a comparison of the three organizational paradigms: rational, natural, and open systems. An assessment is supported by analysis of paradigms as they exist in three high tech organizations in California. Following discussions analyze the key elements of the organizational structure and design in the organizations of the airline and automobile industries and present changes created upon an organizational needs and dilemmas.
