Chariots of Gaul

Autor Jack Mitchell
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 dec 2034 – vârsta de la 10 până la 13 ani
When Julius Caesar invades Celtic Britain, among the many hostages taken by the Romans is a sixteen-year-old boy named Ludu. He is brought to Rome, where his great skill as a charioteer soon earns him glory in the Circus Maximus. At first, it seems that Ludu is fated to spend the rest of his life in Rome when he learns that Celtic Gaul has risen in revolt against its Roman invaders.

Ludu joins in the rebellion, providing the legendary Chariots of Gaul, which, according to prophecy, are required before Gaul can be free. With his companion, a girl named Sila, he takes part in the mighty battle with Julius Caesar’s Roman legions.

Jack Mitchell is a classicist, and his knowledge of the period transports the reader to a time of heroes, empires, and adventure. His masterful skill as a novelist gives readers insight into the very human emotions and desires experienced by people who lived long ago.
