David Hanrahan is a headteacher and lecturer in the philosophy of education at the University of Ireland, Galway. His previous book Colonel Blood: The Man Who Stole the Crown Jewels (Sutton 2003) was very well received, and was described in BBC History Magazine as a 'thundering book story'.
