Child labour is a social evil. It destroys the physical, mental and moral development of the children by putting them into employment depriving them of all sorts of enjoyment they need in childhood. They are the future citizen of our society. So it is our duty to look after them, protect them and provide them better care for their physical and mental growth. This problem drags the attention of social thinkers, policy makers and Government officials for eradication. The present Book aims to discuss and summarise the generalisations achieved through the study on children found at work in automobile workshops with special reference to the socio-economic background of the children found at work in automobile workshops, previous academic performance, their work and life, monthly wage, night work, process of became labour at automobile workshops, hazards exposed due to work at workshops, their attitude and perception towards work, wage, continuing education, self-employment as well as their future plan and so on and moreover present important findings, conclusion derived and hence appropriate suggestions to eliminate the problem of child labour.

Dr. E. Arumuga Gandhi is an Independent Researcher working on Sociology of Education, Social Problems, Marginalised Groups, and Gender. He has served as a teaching faculty member in Sociology at various universities of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states in India. He authored many books & published articles in national and international journals.
