Choral singing, along with sport, is among the most
popular leisure activities that bring people together. Mozart,
Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, Handel, Orff and countless
others have composed some of their best-known works
for choirs, while Schiller, Heine, Claudius and Eichendorff
have provided texts of everlasting beauty. Much of this has
become music of ordinary people ¿ genuine folk music.
