Christ Is My Beloved: The Archaeological Landscape of the Shell North Western Ethylene Pipeline

Autor George E Stevens
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 30 oct 2009
The study of Christ in the Scriptures is heart-warming and encouraging at any time. The author's portraits of Christ in the Song of Solomon breathe life and reverence into the interpretation of a book that is so often misunderstood. For the most part, he uses Scripture to interpret Scripture - an exemplary method of Bible study. Where this is not possible, he has used the characteristics of natural life to bring about understanding. The Lord Jesus Christ is honoured on almost every page. Furthermore, he reveals the appreciation of love between the Messiah and Zion (along with that for the Church); and that Jerusalem can look forward to a bright future, after a period of severe persecution. This is a book that stirs up affection for the Son of the living God, leading the reader to worship the Father whose counsels and purposes are centred, as always, in Christ.

Notă biografică

George Stevens was born in Bath, Somerset, England just after World War II. He attended Sunday School and Young Sowers League at Manvers Street Baptist Church as a junior. It was while learning a poem for a prizegiving that he first realised the reality of Christ and that He had risen from the dead. He attended St. Stephen's Church on Lansdown Road during his teenage years. He was a member of the choir, (although he would never admit to being a tuneful singer). At the age of about fourteen, he confessed Christ as the Son of God, but had no firm assurance of salvation until he heard the Gospel preached in a small "Brethren" hall in Hounslow. He was in his twenties at the time. He has continued meeting with what would be called historically, the Kelly/Glanton assemblies, although the only label he would boast in is "Christian". Once assured of salvation, one of George's main Bible studies was "Christ in All the Scriptures". This led to a delight in the Song of Solomon to which he has returned many times during his Christian life. This book is one of the results. George was a primary school teacher for about thirty-two years before stepping down from a headship a few years ago.
