We all know the Christmas story, the timeless story about Mary and Joseph and the birth of baby Jesus in a manger under a bright star, while the stable animals looked on and the wise men came bearing gifts. Shepherds came to worship after a visit from a choir of angels telling them of the birth of The Savior. The world would never be the same, but did it really go that smoothly? What if someone or something had tried to prevent that awesome event? This is a story of what almost would have been if there had not been someone there to witness and protect that which had been declared by the prophets long ago.
