Boley Hulett moved his family to the thicket area of Texas during the Civil War. He was willing to give up his property in Tennessee to save his boys from the war. He knew the Southern states world lose the battle for slavery. Seven generations of Huletts had lived in East Texas when oil was discovered. Hank Hulett worked for an oil company. That company moved to the west side of the state. Hank and his wife, Joanie, moved with their three children, Boyd, Cork, and Dorcie, to Midland, Texas. When Hank died, Joanie married a Midland policeman. Dorcie received a scholarship to attend a college in Denton, Texas, when she graduated from high school. A college student, Jackson Greyman, agreed to take her to Dallas where she planned to find a job until September when she would attend college. While they were traveling near Abeline, Texas, a woman opened the trunk of the car ahead of them. She flung large bags to the side of the road. These bags contained money. The car did not return. Dorcie rented a car and Jackson helped Dorcie transfer the bags to the rental car and then continued on his hunting trip.
