Classification of Knowledge in Islam

This investigation of the hierarchy of knowledge from an Islamic perspective concentrates on the writings of three of the most eminent representatives of intellectual Islamic thought: Farabi, Ghazali, and Qutb al-Din Shirazi. Different branches of Islamic knowledge are examined, incorporating all forms of knowledge from metaphysics to the physical sciences.
