Notă biografică
Tracy Lynn Sandifer-Hunter holds both a Bachelor of Art and Masters of Art in Teaching from Mississippi Valley State University. She has engaged her students with the power of the written word as a classroom teacher for 25 years as an English Teacher and was nominated as Teacher of the Year in 2012. Tracy Lynn is also a self-taught visual artist who illustrated her daughter Erica Sandifer's first book, Sunshine in the Delta. A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, she has written various poems and songs throughout the years, and produced Clear Skies in the Delta as a direct sequel to Sunshine in the Delta. When she was first grade, she won first place in her first art contest which was a drawing of Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer and won other prizes in between throughout grade school and high school. She has also held her own "one woman" exhibition and has exhibited at the John James Audubon Museum in Henderson, Kentucky as well as at local galleries. She describes herself as primarily a self-taught artist who enjoys experimenting with various media. "However, if I could paint the world, my choice would be a big bright world painted over in bold hues of acrylic and brought to life with the literary word." I see art as a constant motivational factor existent in all forms of everyday life wherein the true beauty of it lies in the eye of the beholder. However, I have a special appreciation for themes which are reflective of my own cultural background such as the prevalent mother and child theme which is evident in much of my work. Equally befitting, I have attempted to capture the essence of men, women, and children who are true reflections of the worlds to which they belong. For example, "Grandmother and Child," the illustration on the front cover depicts the continuation of the matriarchal theme and the likeness of my Grandmother, Carrie.
