Columbia County was created in 1790 from Richmond County, GA. These court records contain such things as: Deeds of Gift, Bill of Sale, Powers of Attorney (many of which are from Revolutionary Soldiers asking that their bounty lands and pensions in other states be obtained for them), and other Legal Oddments.
